Getting Started
Do I need to create an account?
No. Barakah requires no account, no login, and no email address. Just open the app and start tracking. Your data is stored on your device and synced privately through your own iCloud account.
How do I add my baby?
On first launch, the app will prompt you to create your family and add your first child. You can add additional children any time in Settings → Add Child.
Can I track multiple children?
Yes. Add as many children as you need from Settings → Add Child. Switch between children using the child selector at the top of the Dashboard.
iCloud & Sync
How does iCloud sync work?
Barakah uses Apple CloudKit to sync your data privately through your own iCloud account. Your data goes directly between your devices — it never passes through any server operated by BARAKAH TECHNOLOGIES, INC.
Sync is always on — just make sure you're signed into iCloud on your device and that iCloud Drive is turned on in iPhone Settings → [your name] → iCloud → iCloud Drive.
My data isn't syncing. What should I do?
- Confirm iCloud is signed in and iCloud Drive is enabled on all devices.
- Check your iCloud storage — if it's full, sync will pause.
- Open the app on each device and wait a few minutes. CloudKit sync is near-real-time but not instantaneous.
- Force-quit and reopen the app to trigger a fresh sync check.
- Check the iCloud sync status indicator in Settings → Sync Diagnostics.
I got a new iPhone. How do I restore my data?
If you transferred your new iPhone from your old one (via iCloud backup or direct transfer), the app and all data will transfer automatically.
If you set up the new iPhone fresh, install Barakah from the App Store, sign in to iCloud with the same Apple ID, and your data will sync down automatically within a few minutes.
Family Sharing & Caregivers
How do I share with my partner or a caregiver?
Go to Settings → Invite Member. Choose a role (Parent, Caregiver, Viewer, etc.) and an optional expiry date, then share the generated link via iMessage, AirDrop, or any other method. The other person taps the link on their iPhone with Barakah installed.
Barakah Premium is required to invite caregivers.
What can each role do?
- Owner / Parent: Full read and write access. Can manage family members and settings.
- Caregiver: Can log feedings, sleep, diapers, growth, medications, milestones, and temperature entries.
- Temporary Caregiver: Same as Caregiver but access expires automatically on a set date.
- Viewer: Read-only. Can see logs but cannot add or edit entries.
How do I remove a family member?
Go to Settings → Family Members, swipe left on the member you want to remove, and tap Remove. The last owner cannot be removed.
Feeding Tracker
How do I log a feeding with Siri?
Say "Log a feeding in Barakah" to Siri. You can specify the type (formula, breastfeed, pump) and amount. Barakah will confirm and save the entry without you needing to open the app.
What does the "Last Fed" widget show?
The widget shows your active child's name, how long ago the last feeding was, and a progress bar toward the next suggested feeding interval based on your baby's age. Add it from your iPhone's Home Screen or Lock Screen widget picker — search for "Barakah".
Growth Charts
Which growth chart standards does Barakah use?
Barakah follows AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) recommendations:
- Ages 0–24 months: WHO Child Growth Standards (2006)
- Ages 2–5 years: CDC 2000 Growth Charts
Three indicators are tracked: Weight-for-Age, Length-for-Age, and Weight-for-Length, each showing the P3, P15, P50, P85, and P97 percentile bands.
Why does my app's percentile differ from my doctor's?
Different electronic health records (EHR) systems may use slightly different smoothing methods, datasets, or age-rounding algorithms. Small differences are normal. Always confirm growth assessments with your pediatrician — Barakah is for informational tracking, not medical diagnosis.
The Length-for-Age and Weight-for-Length charts aren't showing. Why?
These charts unlock only after you log at least one growth entry that includes a length measurement. Go to the Report tab and add a growth entry with weight and length filled in.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Go to Settings → Barakah Premium and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, select Barakah, and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
Privacy & Data
How do I delete all my data?
If you're the family owner: In the app's Settings, choose Remove From This Device to clear this device's copy and keep your data in iCloud, or Delete Family & iCloud Data to permanently delete everything for every family member.
If you're a family member: In the app's Settings, choose Leave Family to remove this device's access — the owner's data is never affected.
From iCloud directly: Go to iPhone Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Barakah → Delete Data.
Deleting the app also removes all local data.
Does Barakah send my data to any server?
No. Barakah has no third-party app server. All data lives on your device and syncs privately through your own private iCloud account. We have no access to your data. See our full Privacy Policy.
How do I lock the app with Face ID or Touch ID?
The app automatically requires Face ID / Touch ID (or your passcode as fallback) every time it opens. To manually lock it immediately, go to Settings → Lock App or use the Lock App action in the Shortcuts app.
